Tired of uninspiring writing prompts?

Embrace the blank page with this free 10 minute creative writing audio lesson

In this practical, simple and inspiring lesson, I invite you into my writing process and share with you my tried and tested method for generating ideas to write about. Step by step, this audio lesson will show you exactly what I do every time I want to write something new, but don’t know where to start.

By the end of this lesson, you’ll have a page full of your very own ideas in your notebook, which you will then be able to explore further, whether that’s for a book idea, a short story or an essay or a blog post.

So, let’s beat writer’s block and start writing today. And don’t forget to signed up to my newsletter, Dear Huma, for more writing advice as well as many more lovely things.

Hi, I’m Huma Qureshi. Welcome!

I’m an award-winning author of four books, and I am passionate about writing and teaching writing in an inspiring, non-formulaic way.

My most recent books Things We Do Not Tell The People We Love and How We Met: A Memoir of Love and Other Misadventures were both published to critical acclaim in 2021. You can read about the awards I’ve won and been nominated for here.

I’ve been teaching writing courses and mentoring for six years. I have also worked with institutions such as The Arvon Foundation, Guardian Masterclasses and CBC Creative.

When I designed my own writing courses, I knew I wanted them to be different: to be non-formulaic, playful, curious and inspiring, inviting you to spend time off the screen and away from your desks, because so much of writing takes place before we even get there. Above all, I want my courses to remind anyone and everyone who wants to write that writing is first and foremost a pleasurable pursuit.
